Getting ready for KIC. Several people from C2B2 will be taking part in Kristineberg Innovation Centre Day, including Torsten Linders. – I’m looking forward to seeing how people respond to our demonstrations, he says.

TECHNOLOGY. One month to go until Kristineberg Innovation Centre Day (22–23 October).
Torsten Linders from C2B2 will be there.
– Yes, several of us from C2B2 will be attending. KIC Day is a very good forum for us to be part of, he says.

For two days, innovators, researchers and others with an interest in maritime solutions will meet at the Kristineberg research station in Bohuslän.
– There will be some interesting discussions and demonstrations. C2B2 will be showcasing underwater robots and AI-based analysis of underwater images, says Torsten Linders.
Why is it important for C2B2 to take part?
– This is one of the demonstration days we are organising as part of the research programme. It gives us an opportunity to showcase what is happening within C2B2, particularly in the technical work package, WP2. It’s great that we can organise events like this together with others, it increases our reach.
How many times have you taken part at Kristineberg before?
– I’ve been to there many times, but this is the first time C2B2 is holding a demonstration here.
Who else from C2B2 will be there?
– Ola Benderius and Tarun Kadri Sathiyan from Chalmers, Jessica Hjerpe Olausson from RISE, and Matthias Obst from the University of Gothenburg.
What are you most looking forward to?
– I’m looking forward to seeing how people respond to the demonstrations, and to discussing how we can develop marine test sites around Sweden.
Why is Gullmarsfjorden a good place to conduct tests?
– Gullmarn is unique in Sweden. It reaches depths of almost 120 metres without being exposed to the harsh conditions found offshore. It’s no coincidence that the Swedish Navy’s mine-clearance divers are based in Gullmarn. Here, you never have to cancel a dive because of the weather.
Anything else you’re looking forward to?
– Yes, simply being in this special environment is fantastic. It will be well into autumn, but perhaps there will even be a chance to take a dip in the sea.
